The Woman Amongst the Trees takes place in West Virginia in the Appalachian Mountains. It is a common folklore among the townspeople that there is a mysterious woman who lives in the trees. Some say she is an evil witch who's been around for thousands of years, some say she is the ghost of a woman who died while lost on the Appalachian trail. A brother (14 years old) and sister (18 years old) are staying with their grandparents and decide to go hiking. They follow familiar trails until they reach an unknown path. Being young and curious, they decide to take the path. They follow the path for miles deep into the forest where the meet a mysterious woman that will change their lives forever. The woman amongst the trees.

In this poster I particularly liked how the swan and the dancer are doing the same movement. It  gives the audience a feeling of connection between the dancer and the swan. 

This poster shows the two main characters in the movie. Brad Pitt is in purple and is represented as a ghost or dream it seems. It is obvious that there is a connection between the two. 

This one is similar in the fact that because bruce willis is upside down, it implies that these two are on two different time planes. They are connected but we aren't sure how yet.

This image represents my grandfather purchasing a farm to start a family in Eastern Washington.

 This picture represents my Dad's farm he grew up on in Davenport Washington. 

This image of cow milking represents one of the many aspects of growing up on a farm. 

The image of the boy learning piano represents my Dad when he first began piano lessons.

This image represents my Dad continuing his music passion and forming a garageband. 

The above two images represent my Dad pursuing his music passion and going off to the University of Arizona. 

At the University, my Dad was introduced to musical theatre and quickly developed a passion for it. 

 Through musical theatre, he met my mother at a party.

They then went on their first date. 

They remained together and graduated from U of A.

After school they were married in Arizona. 

They then left Arizona in search of employment. 

They ended up at Southern Illinois University

They then settled down and had a few kids. 

They are now both professors at SIUC. Mom moved on to be the head of the Honors Program, and Dad is the head of the musical theatre department. 

This photos exemplifies symmetry. The two bridges are perfectly balanced in the frame as well as their reflections. There is enough space in between and on the sides of the bridges that it makes the bridges look enormous.

This photo is completely unbalanced. The house on the right as a lot of optical weight and makes you focus solely on the house. There is a lot of space everywhere else around the house which gives the home a very isolated feel. 

In this photo, a brick wall and a bike are split perfectly in half. The photo is completely symmetrical. The drain pipe in the middle splits the frame in half and makes you focus on the bike. There isn't a whole lot of space due to the fact it's shot up against a wall. It has a narrower depth of field than the other photos.

Hi everyone, my name is Aaron Fink and I am currently a Junior at SIUC studying Radio Television and Advertising. I have had interests in video production as early as I can remember. I hope to have a successful career in this field someday and am eager to learn as much as I can. I enjoy many other things such as music, video games, sports, travel, and cooking. I am 22 years old and have been born and raised here in Carbondale, so i'm looking forward to graduating and getting out of Illinois.
